I am a baking fool!

I have been baking up a storm in our kitchen so far this week.....my favorite thing to do! We are going to have a packed house over the weekend. Hubs' mom, dad, sister, BIL, niece and nephew are all coming to our house on Friday to celebrate Christmas over the weekend. I cannot wait to see everyone!

Here is our partial dessert line up:

WARNING: MAY CAUSE HUNGER. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT EATEN BREAKFAST OR LUNCH. ;-)

1. Pecan Pie- I will be using my mom's family recipe. I know I am biased but I swear it is the best pecan pie ever!

2. Pumpkin Pie- Once again, I will use our family's recipe. I am also going to break out the good ol' Williams-Sonoma pie crust cutters (see picture below pumpkin pie) to make a pretty leaf edging around the crust of the pie. Highly recommend these cutters if you like making pies!

Williams-Sonoma

3. Cowgirl Cookies- Obviously I will substitute the pink M&M's with red and green M&M's. If you have not tried this recipe go to Bakerella's webiste now and check it out. These cookies will not disappoint! Bakerella also gives the instructions on how to make the recipe jars which makes a cute gift/favor for friends and family.
4. Red Velvet Cake Truffles (also called RV Cake Balls but I think truffles sounds better and more appetizing....lol)- Half of these will be dipped in white chocolate and the other half in milk chocolate. After the truffles have been dipped in chocolate I will drizzle white chocolate mixed with red and green food coloring on top. Voila! Festive truffles! :-)
Bakerella

5. Oreo Truffles- Will do the same as the Red Velvet Truffles. These are Hubs' favorite treat!

6. Reindeer Chow (aka Puppy Chow)- Always a favorite.

7. Fudge- I made this last night with a recipe from Kraft Foods. Very, very easy and tastes great too!

8. Peanut Butter Fudge- same recipe as above except you cut the recipe in half and make it twice. The first time you follow the recipe (except all ingredients are cut in half) and then the second time you substitute 1 cup of peanut butter for the chocolate.

As you can see, I love to bake!!!! I would much rather bake all day then cook. I feel confident when I bake, not as much when I cook. Anyone else feel the same way? Do you love to bake? What is your favorite recipe to make?

Have a wonderful Wednesday.....half way through the week!!!

Tomorrow I will hopefully post pictures of our Christmas Wonderland....formally known as our house. :-)

I love to cook, not so much on the baking. Probably because I'm not a big sweets fan so I'd rather enjoy the fruits of my labor. :) But feel free to pass some of those red velvet TRUFFLES my way. I could enjoy those.

oh yummy! I've just started my "holiday baking"...but now it looks like I'll have to add a few new things to the list...everything looks soooo good!

I am a truffle-a-holic! And if I have them in the house and S is in town, they are GONE. Instantly... particularly the Oreo ones. I now have made both the cake and orea ones... oh so good!

I will be getting into the baking swing of things this weekend! Just NOT feel Christmas yet... it's really quite sad!

Can you come over and bake some deserts for me for the holidays? I'm so tired and worn out that I definitely don't want to bake or cook or do anything really!

I will like to try the Fudge recipe but your link does not work.
Thx.

TRUFFLES! What a perfect name. I blogged about cake balls recently and "cake balls" just does not do the tasty treats justice! I love "cake truffles". perfection.

I need to try the oreo version...
