Baby, It's Cold Outside!!!

......or at least that is what our bulldog, Buerly, seems to think!
All pictures compliments of the good ol Blackberry so excuse the poor photo quality.
Buerly was snuggled up on his pillow underneath a blanket last night. Talk about spoiled!

Meanwhile, Rooney (our other bully) was in our bed underneath the comforter. You couldn't even see him at one point because he wanted to be completely buried! I swear, our dogs are so darn spoiled it isn't even funny!

Need further proof?!?

This is a common occurrence at our house.

I am so glad that I kept my 'leopard' and 'zebra' print blankets so that our poor babies have something to sleep on/under (I refuse to let them takeover my nice blankets). Heaven forbid they actually sleep on the floor like normal dogs. Hubs and I have definitely created two little stinky monsters! But we do love our little monsters no matter how spoiled or stinky they are! Anyone else create little monsters by spoiling their pets?!? :-)

PS - We are in serious trouble when we decide to have

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!!

Side note: I will try to upload my pictures from the holidays tonight. I lost my camera cord so hopefully tonight I will go purchase a new one!

Merry Christmas......belated......

I hope everyone had an ah-mazing Christmas! I know we sure did!!!

Things leading up to the holidays were pretty crazy for Hubs and I (ie- lots of family get togethers, dinner with friends, tickets to TSO, etc.). Our schedule was definitely jam packed but the Saturday and Sunday after Christmas were complete veg days for us.......and by veg, I mean staying in our pajamas all day!!! :-)

Hubs had no problem staying at home in his sweat pants all day because he was preoccupied with this:
While I played with this:
Needless to say we received a lot of great things for Christmas. But ultimately we had a wonderful time with our family and friends!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I will be sure to post some pictures tomorrow (if I remember to upload the pictures....hehe).

Have a great Tuesday!!!!

Side note: Be sure to check out the great sale going on at Express and use promo code 4532 to save $30 on $100 or more! I had a hey day shopping today! :-)

Early Christmas Surprise

Hubs and I celebrated Christmas over the weekend with his parents, sister, BIL and their two kids. It was an amazing weekend full of laughs (which I will go into further detail later).

While opening presents Saturday night Hubs surprised me with an early Christmas present (well, two to be exact).

A Jeff Saturday Colts Jersey:
Jeff Saturday is the center for the Colts (14-0....oh yeah!!!!). He looks like a big teddy bear that you just want to hug! I have always loved him as a player......and his big blue eyes! hehe to go see Trans-Siberian Orchestra on Wednesday night!!!!!
"Trans-Siberian Orchestra (often abbreviated as TSO) is an orchestra founded in 1996 by Paul O'Neill, who brought together long-time friendsJon Oliva, Robert Kinkel, andAl Pitrelli. The band's musical style incorporates progressive rock, symphonic metal, and heavy metal, with influences from classical music.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra has recorded and performed renditions of traditional Christmas songs, and these have been among their most popular works. They are also known for their elaborate concerts, complete with a full light show and dozens of pyrotechnics that are synchronized with their performance." - Wikipedia

Here is a clip of the 2009 promo for the concert-

Are you giddy after seeing that because I sure am!!!! I am so excited to go see this concert! I absolutely love the music and have always wanted to go but never had the opportunity. I have heard nothing but great things about this concert. So needless to say I am really looking forward to Wednesday night!!!! Oh and did I mention that my incredible husband scored us third row tickets?!? Sooooo excited!

Hubs is also treating me to dinner before the concert. He did such a great job!!!!

Has anyone else seen TSO in concert?!? Did you like it?

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and have a great Monday!

A Christmas Tradition

Every Christmas for as long as I can remember (and probably longer) my dad and I have gone Christmas shopping together to find the perfect presents for my mom. We spend all day shopping, just the two of us. And usually that includes us going out to lunch together....major plus! :-)

This may not sound like a big deal but trust me, it is. My dad, like a lot of men, would rather do just about anything but set foot in a mall. His idea of shopping is to go to the jewelry store and do some one stop shopping.......which mom has NEVER complained about. Hehe! He is definitely not the shopping type but one day out of the year he turns into quite the shopper! My mom has always said that she 'wishes she could be a little mouse along for the ride just to see us in action' because we always come home laughing with some great stories about what we did that day.

That very, very special day just so happens to be today! My dad and I are leaving work around 10:30am to go hit up the malls and search for those perfect presents. I look forward to this day every year!!! It's not that often that my daddy and I get to spend the entire day together, just the two of us. We always have a great time and tend to be very successful in our shopping ventures.

Have a WONDERFUL Thursday......I sure know I will! :-D
My daddy and I

This is just one of our holiday traditions but a very special one! What are some of your Christmas traditions?!?

I am a baking fool!

I have been baking up a storm in our kitchen so far this favorite thing to do! We are going to have a packed house over the weekend. Hubs' mom, dad, sister, BIL, niece and nephew are all coming to our house on Friday to celebrate Christmas over the weekend. I cannot wait to see everyone!

Here is our partial dessert line up:

1. Pecan Pie- I will be using my mom's family recipe. I know I am biased but I swear it is the best pecan pie ever!

2. Pumpkin Pie- Once again, I will use our family's recipe. I am also going to break out the good ol' Williams-Sonoma pie crust cutters (see picture below pumpkin pie) to make a pretty leaf edging around the crust of the pie. Highly recommend these cutters if you like making pies!

3. Cowgirl Cookies- Obviously I will substitute the pink M&M's with red and green M&M's. If you have not tried this recipe go to Bakerella's webiste now and check it out. These cookies will not disappoint! Bakerella also gives the instructions on how to make the recipe jars which makes a cute gift/favor for friends and family.
4. Red Velvet Cake Truffles (also called RV Cake Balls but I think truffles sounds better and more Half of these will be dipped in white chocolate and the other half in milk chocolate. After the truffles have been dipped in chocolate I will drizzle white chocolate mixed with red and green food coloring on top. Voila! Festive truffles! :-)

5. Oreo Truffles- Will do the same as the Red Velvet Truffles. These are Hubs' favorite treat!

6. Reindeer Chow (aka Puppy Chow)- Always a favorite.

7. Fudge- I made this last night with a recipe from Kraft Foods. Very, very easy and tastes great too!

8. Peanut Butter Fudge- same recipe as above except you cut the recipe in half and make it twice. The first time you follow the recipe (except all ingredients are cut in half) and then the second time you substitute 1 cup of peanut butter for the chocolate.

As you can see, I love to bake!!!! I would much rather bake all day then cook. I feel confident when I bake, not as much when I cook. Anyone else feel the same way? Do you love to bake? What is your favorite recipe to make?

Have a wonderful Wednesday.....half way through the week!!!

Tomorrow I will hopefully post pictures of our Christmas Wonderland....formally known as our house. :-)

Funniest Christmas Card

Last night I received the funniest Christmas card ever and you will never guess who the card was from........Buerly and Rooney (our English Bullies). Yep! Our dogs sent us a Christmas card this year! Boy do we feel special! ;-)

Note: Not adorable mom sent us a Christmas card and signed it from Buerly and Rooney. So sweet! When I actually read the card I about peed my pants laughing!

The card had a picture of a Bulldog on the front and read:

"The heck with two front teeth! All I want for Christmas is my testicles back!"

And the inside read:

"Have a ball this Christmas season!"

Thanks boys (and mom) for the funniest Christmas card! Haha!

Have a great weekend!!!!!

Christmas Shopping

I have been doing a lot of Christmas shopping lately.....haven't we all?!? :-) But of course while out shopping it was impossible for me not to 'browse' for a few things that I wouldn't mind finding underneath the Christmas tree this year! ;-)

Victoria's Secret Flannel PJ's
Don't these look soooo comfy and warm?!? They are just begging to be worn on a cold, wintery day with no where to go!

Express ReRock Jeans
I just bought my first pair of ReRocks (Express' new jean line) and I LOVE them!!!! Highly recommend them! So of course owning a few more pairs would never hurt. ;-)

Michaels- Cricut Expression
A scrapbooker's dream come true!!!! My jaw seriously hit the table when I watched a demo at Michael's one day. I am pretty sure my sister-in-law had to pull my jaw off of the table after witnessing this fine piece of equipment!

WHBM Faux Mink Bolero
Doesn't this just look fun?!? We think so!

J. Crew Salon Necklace
Love it but I would definitely be dreaming at $150.

Coach- Claire
And while I am dreaming.......

Okay this list kind of turned into my dream list towards the end but a girl can dream, can't she?!

Have you found any 'dream' items or fun things that you wouldn't mind finding underneath the Christmas tree this year?

Be sure to check out the poll to your right. Happy Tuesday!

I just made room on my shelf for...... big ol 'Aunt of the Year' trophy that I will be receiving after the holidays this year!

Would you all like to know why?!?!?!?
Bloggerland friends meet Zhu Zhu Pet......Zhu Zhu Pet meet Bloggerland friends. Now that formal introductions are out of the way I can elaborate. I am sure you all have heard that this toy is the 'IT' item of the holidays for kids all around the world. People line up outside of stores hours before opening, crazies stalk FedEx and UPS trucks and parents have gotten into fights for these pesky, mess-free, economical hamsters.

Well, this lucky girl has scored a Zhu Zhu Pet for her adorable soon-to-be six year old niece for Christmas (let the screaming and jumping up and down commence). Wanna know the best part?!? I didn't even wait in long lines or wake up hours before the sun rise to get one! Lucky me, right?!?

One of my college roomie's has some connections.......we will just leave it at that (don't worry, they are all legit.....she's not in the mob or anything). I just happened to text her at the perfect moment regarding these cute, little vermin and she was in the right spot at the right time and grabbed one for me. So when I give my 'Aunt of the Year' acceptance speech I will definitely be thanking my college roomie first and foremost!

But why stop at the 'Aunt of the Year' award when I can go for 'Aunt of the Century'?!?
If I could get my grubby little hands on one of these accessories I would surely win 'Aunt of the Century'. I know that E-Bay and Amazon are always an option but I refuse, let me repeat, refuse to pay 2-5 times the value of a product all for the sake of getting a hot ticket item before Christmas when we all know that it will be available after Christmas! Whew.....need to take a breath after that rant!

So, I will continue to look for these accessories but I also will not kill myself attempting to find one because let's face it.....I already have 'Aunt of the Year' in the bag. But if I happen to get really desperate for that 'Aunt of the Century' award I might cheat and buy a real hamster ball from a pet store to see if the little rodent will run around in it. What do we think- will it work?

Ultimately, I am just hoping that I will get lucky and an accessory will just 'fall' into my lap. Hey! It's possible! Until then, wish me luck because I will need it!

Very important side note: Hubs only has one sibling (aka our niece's mother, Hubs' sister)......VERY stiff competition for the 'Aunt of the Year' trophy ;-)

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!!!

It is no secret that I LOVE me some Christmas! Every year I try to sweet talk/bribe Hubs into letting me put up the Christmas trees earlier and earlier (yes, I said trees plural.....will explain that soon). This year was no exception! Since Thanksgiving fell a week later this year I was in a panic about losing that precious week of warm, holiday decorations and cheer! Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration........but not completely!

Soooooooo......I batted my eyes and in my sweetest voice (aka- the 'I really, really want something' voice) asked Hubs if I could get the Christmas decor out before Thanksgiving. Before he even had the chance to respond or say no I quickly started making my case of why this was a genius idea on my part. I mean, we weren't hosting any Thanksgiving festivities at our house this year and I had had all my fall/Thanksgiving decor up since Labor day weekend so truthfully, I was kind of over it! Normally Hubs stands firm in his belief that we have to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to get out the Christmas decor (which was traditionally when I always got Christmas stuff out too) but this year he shocked me! He said YES!!!!

I think I was halfway down the basement stairs humming 'Jingle Bells' before he could even get the word 'yes' completely out of his mouth. Before he knew it I had boxes, containers, trees, garlands, and wreaths scattered throughout the house. But hey, he knew how extreme I am when it comes to Christmas before he married me. Ha! I was in the best mood that day!

Oh, and did I mention that all of this occurred on November 14th?!? Ha! Yes, I know, major faux pas on my part but I couldn't resist diving into the holiday cheer early this year. Don't you judge me!

So what is your tradition when it comes to timing of putting up the tree?!? Did any of you give into the temptation and put the tree up early this year?!?

This picture was taken last year during our family Christmas at our house.

Check out the poll on the right! Have a GREAT weekend!!!! :-)

Our Perfect Day: The Reception, Part II

After dinner and the formal dances the dance floor opened up for all of our guests:

We had several people tell us that they had never danced so much at a wedding. Mission accomplished! I attribute this to our AWESOME DJ- DJ Jeremy Gearries of DJs Direct (Jeremy also happens to be the owner of the company)! DJ Jeremy played everything from Bon Jovi to Journey to current Top 10 music.

I was a dancing fool that night! We attempted to visit every table but once the music started people left their tables so it was impossible. Hubs and I gave up and found the dance floor! Ha!

Our nieces dancing together! Soooo cute!

My MOH, Paloma, and I. I am pretty sure that all Paloma and I do when we are together is laugh. This picture definitely sums up our friendship- fun and full of laughs!

1, 2, 3......
Our bouquet toss song was to Cyndi Lauper- Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (I love me some 80's)

Oh yes.......he did do that! The video is even funnier because Hubs started a couple feet in front of me with his back facing me. He then dropped down to the floor on his back and scooted himself underneath my dress. It looked like a mechanic scooting himself under a car. Sooooooo appropriate! Riiiiiight

Our garter toss song was to Black Eyed Peas- I Got a Feeling
Hubs jokingly wanted the garter toss song to be to Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman originally.......of course I said no.......inapporpriate!!! lol

My little dancing partner!!!! She was a dancing queen! She would run away from her 'Papa' because he made her take a break at one point (just once) and from then on out she was afraid he was going to make her leave the dance floor.

Very classy.........a groomsman with the garter around his head! Love it!

Our photographer, Angela, left around 11pm (the wedding went until midnight) which may have been a good thing! There was definitely some craziness towards the end! College friends and family + free, open bar = Absolutely crazy/hysterical times! One example- one of my bridesmaids who shall remain anonymous definitely did the worm on the dance floor, in her bridesmaid dress and had a minor dress malfunction! Good times, good times!

Our videographer, Indy Visual, posted a clip from our wedding day here. Go check it out, I will wait for you to come back! :-)

Didn't they do a fantastic job?!? I have received the DVD of our wedding day and I absolutely LOVED it!!!!! I can't thank Bob and Rich (our videographers) and Angela R. Talley (our photographer) enough for the great job they did! Now I will always be able to relive our wedding day through video and pictures! :-)

My wedding was everything and even more than I ever dreamed of thanks in large part to my parents and Hubs' parents! Hubs and I had an amazing time! We both wish that we could have slowed down time because like everyone will tell was over in a blink of the eye!

For all of you soon-to-be brides out there: good luck and have fun with the planning process! The day will come and go faster than you will ever believe!!!!! On your wedding day, take a step back and let everything soak in, sneak away with your husband to share in a private moment and enjoy the time with your friends and family because after all they are celebrating your marriage with you!

To all my readers- thank you so much for all of your words of encouragement, sweet comments, and advice along the way! I have really enjoyed reading your feedback throughout my planning process and recaps! Thanks for taking the time to read my little blog and I hope you all enjoyed what I have had to share! I don't want to sound creepy or anything but I do consider you all friends! Thank you for allowing me to share a little piece of my life with all of you!

So, where do I go from here?!? Well, you will just have to wait until my next post to find out! I know, really isn't, I promise! Until then I would love to hear from all of you! My google reader and I are dying for more blogs to follow! Leave me a comment with your blog name so that I can add you to my neglected google blogs, life blogs, DIY blogs, nesting blogs, etc. I want to hear from you! Thank you in advance! :-)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!!
