Wedding Veils

When it comes to veils there are many different styles that a bride can choose from. I was lucky enough to know exactly what type of veil I wanted. I have wanted this style of veil since I was a little girl so when it came time to pick out my veil it was a no brainer! But for those who aren't sure what style veil to go with there are several options out there. Here are some of the different style veils:

Blusher Veil: a veil that is worn over the brides face. Typically the blusher falls somewhere between the collar bone and bust.

Fly-Away Veil: a multi-layered veil that just brushes the shoulders. It is a less formal veil.

Birdcage Veil: used to be worn by older brides but is now becoming very trendy and popular amongst brides going for a vintage glam.

Elbow-Length Veil: extends to the elbow and can be multi-layered.

Fingertip Veil: extends to the finger tips and can be multi-layered.

Ballet Length Veil: extends down to the ankles but never touches the ground. This veil is great for dresses without trains and is still hassle free like the veils above.

Chapel Length Veil: extends 6 to 12 inches beyond a chapel length train. A chapel length train typically falls 4 feet from the waist.

Semi-Cathedral Veil: extends 6 to 12 inches beyond a semi-cathedral length train. A semi-cathedral train typically falls 5 to 7 feet from the waist.

Cathedral Veil: extends 6 to 12 inches beyond a cathedral length train. A cathedral train typically falls 7 to 8 feet from the waist.

So, what veil is my childhood dream veil?!? The Cathedral length veil!!! My dress has a cathedral length train so it pairs perfectly with the cathedral length veil. I wanted something simple since the train is so ornate so I went with an ivory edged satin ribbon. I love my veil!

As you can see, there are several different styles to chose from. What style veil are you going to be wearing on your big day (or wore on your big day)? Are you opting for no veil at all? What led you to pick the style veil that you chose?

Have a great Tuesday! Wish us luck! We start pre-marital counseling tonight!!!

I love cathedral veils! Since I'm so short I went with the chapel length but it still looked like a cathedral.

I didn't know that there are sooo many different types of veils...
But the cathedral veil looks amazing!
I didn't want to have any veil as though it doesn't look good on me.

Have fun tonight :-)

I hate to say that I have no idea what kind of veil I'll wear or IF I'll wear one at all. Yikes!! I need to get on it.
