To Cover or Not to Cover........

I need to decide on the chair situation soon. Here are my options......

Chiavari Chairs at $10/chair
or

Chair Covers at $4.50 - $7.50/chair

If I were basing my decision on price, the chair covers would obviously win (at least for now, I am checking on whether this price includes putting the covers on the chair). But there is just something so beautiful about the chiavari chairs. I also wonder if the chair covers will be too much linen when paired with the table linens (does that make sense)? I want to create a very formal, elegant look. What do you ladies think?!? I've created a poll so let me know your thoughts.

Also, what are you doing/did you do for your wedding reception?!? Chairs, chairs with covers, chiavari chairs, etc?

Have a great weekend ladies!!!!

I am in the same boat! I had initially said chivari chairs since I'd have to pay to cover the other ugly chairs anyway, but didn't realize that the pads didn't come with the chivari chairs (they're extra, of course!). I have my tasting in a few weeks and the caterer is showing me both options, so hopefully that will help me choose!

Well, I don't think that it'll be too much linen {it made sense ;-)}. But take those chairs which are the most comfortable...

I'm going to tell you what you don't want to hear and that's that my vote is probably Chiavari.

Buuut, you've got a big range there for chair covers ($4.50 - $7.50). If it's $4.50 vs. $10, I can live with chair covers. $7.50 vs. $10 - that's much more of a toss up. But when you extrapolate the diff by your guests, that's a lot of extra money. So, in summary, idk. Hope that helps, haha :)

I would go with comfort, as much as I love the chivari chairs I just thinke they are too pricey.

I'm not the biggest fan of covered chairs & I'm using the chivari, buutt I don't think it's something that your guests will whisper under their breath about!

Chiavari chairs... they are expensive, but they just make a room, and look great in pictures! If you can afford them in your budget, I would get them.
Hmmm... I like the covered ones :)

You can do a little of both if you wanted. Do the chivari chairs and a chair bow. If a splash of color that you're looking for. The chair bows should not be as expensive. Although I do prefer the chivari. I wish that was an option for my wedding....I had chair covers.

This question seems to go 'round and 'round. Personally, I love the look of Chiavari chairs. However, have you ever sat in one for 2 hours? They really are not comfortable. Your guests will probably appreciate the covered ones more from a comfort perspective.

Go with the chair covers...if you wedding is rock'n no one will be sitting down anyways...and it will be dark at night.

I think both are beautiful, and I would vote for Chiavari, if I had the money, but I don't, so we are going with wedding white chairs. I've actually never even been to a wedding where they used Chiavari chairs. They are just so expensive.

I like both, but there is something about chivari chairs that I think is so elegant.

Couple of weeks ago I wrote on my blog about chivari chairs and some special touch you can add to it:
