Our Invitations

Okay, as promised, I am posting about our invitations!!! I absolutely loved the way that our invitations and envelopes turned out. (Warning: this is a LONG post but I need to make up for my absence and a lot of it is pictures)

Let me preface this post by saying a couple of things-
  1. These pictures no where near do our invitations and envelopes justice! If I could mail each and every one of you an invite just so you could see how gorgeous they turned out I would (I am definitely not on the modest side today but the vendors did such an amazing job)! Well, that could be costly but you know what I am saying.
  2. Either my camera sucks or I am a terrible photographer because no matter how hard I tried I could not get clear pictures. This is also the reason that I have yet to post a picture of my engagement ring.....I can't get a clear picture! I am guessing that it is all operator error. :-)
  3. I don't know what I was thinking when I took these pictures on our green place mats. I swear that our place mats are not that hideous! Unfortunately, the green background doesn't look very pleasant so please excuse the background color!
And now on to the envelopes-

Envelopes done by Jessica Lynn at Penned & Pretty (pictures do not do justice)

Jessica Lynn over at Penned & Pretty did the calligraphy for our envelopes. They turned out gorgeous! I have received so many compliments on the envelopes. A few people told me that they didn't even want to open the envelope because they looked so pretty. My favorite comment by far was between two family members.

Family Member 1: She had a friend from college do the calligraphy for the envelopes. You should see how gorgeous they turned out!
Family Member 2: I have seen calligraphy before and yes, it is pretty!
Family Member 1: No, trust me, you have not seen this style of calligraphy before. It is STUNNING!!!! Just wait, you will see.
.......a week later.......
Family Member 2: Oh my gosh! You were right! The calligraphy work was absolutely gorgeous! I love how unique the style is! I like this style more than the traditional calligraphy styles that you always see!

For those of you who are still in the early planning stages of your wedding - I HIGHLY recommend Jessica Lynn. Her rates are very affordable and she is very timely about getting your envelopes done. Penned & Pretty will definitely make sure your envelopes turn out stunning!

Moving along......here is our invitation suite:

We used thermography for the lettering on our invitations. I love to run my fingers over the print and feel the raised lettering. The lettering also has a shimmer to it that I love! Thermography definitely added a level of elegance to the invitations!

April Foster of April Foster Events designed our invitations. Let me just say, she was AH-MAZING to work with! She did such a phenomenal job creating the invitation suite that I had envisioned for our wedding, actually she surpassed what I had envisioned. I have received so many compliments from friends and family regarding our invitations! Words cannot express how happy I am with the end result. I know I have said this before but the pictures do not do the invitations justice. That actual colors of the invites turned out beautiful (taupe and champagne).

I highly recommend April when it comes to invitations! Her prices are very affordable, she is timely, and she knows what she is doing! April also does planning and after seeing pictures of the weddings she has planned........she is a heck of a planner! If you haven't already go visit her blog, you will see what I am talking about!

A special thanks goes out to my future in-laws and future hubby! My FMIL, FFIL, FSIL, Future Hubby and I put the invitations together at Future Hubby's parents house. It was definitely a lot of work but the end product was well worth the time (plus we saved money by assembling the invitations ourselves)! I wish I had taken pictures of Future Hubby and his dad working on the invites because it was too funny. It is probably best that I do not have pictures because they would probably kill me if I posted those! :-)

I hope that you enjoyed our invitations! I was extremely happy with the vendors we used and would recommend them to anyone! Did you have any vendors in the planning process that surpassed your expectations?!?

Happy Wednesday!!!! It's hump day!!! I am ready for today to be over with because tomorrow I have my second dress fitting! YAY!!!!

awwww thanks for your kind words!! i am so glad that everyone loved the calligraphy....it was so fun to do on your pretty envelopes! :) sadly, when I arrived home from work the day our invitation came, chris had already RIPPED it open. i couldn't believe it! :) apparently he has no love for my calligraphy and wanted to see the invite. {which was beautiful!} i just wish he would have used a straightedge to open the envelope nicely! :) haha. boys will be boys. see you soon!

I dont know if your camera has it, but mine has a function for a super up close picture . . . called like macro mode or something. You might check if yours does that it really helps with the pictures. If not, find lots of natural light and turn off your flash . . . that should help to. But the invites do look good!!
